Simple or elaborate - choices of wood, sizes & design details are adapted to your space and personal taste - Simon can help you to design your fitted furniture or handmade furniture for your unique space.  It is often useful to look for a style of furniture that you like (particularly for built in pieces) - Country, Traditional, Shaker, Mid Century, Contemporary..to show Simon, as a starting point for the design process as there is so much choice available.

The Process

Each piece I make has been inspired by something somewhere…if you would like to commission a piece..whether you know exactly what you want, or have no clue where to begin, lets work together to create something that you will really love for the rest of your life… 

I prefer to work in person, but email or phone is also fine. It is useful to meet in the studio so that you can see the different woods and oils. We will need to discuss your ideas and examine how it will fit together…any design details you may like; I need know if there is a deadline or budget, and any other special requirements…this first meeting is free and without any obligations.

After clarifying what is required I will want to have a little time to think about your piece and then provide a written quotation with ideas, dimensions and full description of what is proposed which can be further fine-tuned if necessary.

When we have decided on the exact design and price, and you have confirmed that you would like me to go ahead and make your piece, a 50% deposit will be required, the remaining 50% due before collection/delivery.

During the making process you can come in to see our creation during construction if you would like…or I can send photos to keep you informed. Expect to wait under a month before the piece is complete.

Commissioning a piece is an exciting and fun process which I will endeavour to make as enjoyable as possible

Whilst you are deciding on your item it is worth thinking about design details like shapes of legs, handles, thickness of woods…if appropriate so that you can inform us of your preferences
